Long ago I had the chance to buy an old school bus and ended up passing up the opportunity. Years later I had the occasion to show up to a party way up in the hills of Snoqualmie, Washington and although the party was largely outside, I had to go to the bathroom inside. Given instructions as to where the bathroom was located, I proceeded to what can only be described as a bathroom door from an airplane. The bathroom was cramped, but seeing the steering wheel towel rack intrigued me. After I left the bathroom I found the hostess and asked her about the bathroom. "Would you like the grand tour?" she asked. And before showing me around, she sat me down and opened up a photo album showing the construction of their home, which was two school buses, placed in opposite directions, atop a concrete cellar foundation. Total cost, $4,500. The other was a bus made into a motor home. Moral of the story, go with your gut.
