r/deepthoughts is a sub where people share the most milquetoast observations and pass them as insightful, usually by shoehorning fancy words they pulled from the thesaurus. I mean, how many times have you heard phrases along the lines of "exercise is good for you" "those who bully others are insecure" and "never give up?" (click "same here" if you have). not only are these some of the most overused cliches ever but some are also straight up wrong. half of it is just toxic positivity while the other half is just toxicity point blank. actual insight would be acknowledging both sides aren't always same if one has more proof in their favor, positivity isn't happiness and therefore being more optimistic won't necessarily improve your wellbeing, and quality of life is more important than quantity therefore we need to stop pathologizing suicide. but try making any such claims on there or most of the web and see what happens. you'll likely be called "edgy" "quirky" "batman." absolute stupidity
