One thing I hate. My fam traded their mobility for smoking. They refused to do surgeries they needed unless they quit or stopped for a number of days because nicotine hinders recovery. They wouldn't and haven't so they daily suffer in pain and of course no doctors will give them pain meds either. So they let themselves get down to the point of being on a walker instead of giving up cigarettes. It's called them in nicotine patches many times. They won't try to quit. I hate it. I don't like seeing them like that. I remember one person defending a cigarette company saying "smoking is an adult choice". It's not a choice to stay addicted though or become that way. Actually it's an addiction that was made purposely hard to quit if you can't do things in moderation. That's how I feel anyway. I don't like seeing my fam in that shape.
