The worst part about being too nice is you can tell someone they hurt you and they’re fine with that, because of course you’ll forgive them. Of course you’ll apologize for being hurt. You can cry, cuss, sob, weep, shake, lie there wishing you were dead, dying inside, making gasping noises while you sob, wondering why you always get hurt—but of course, where nobody can see, and then you’ll calm down, convince yourself it’s your fault, and either apologize to them or pretend you’re utterly fine. You never walk away from hurt and you keep wondering why you get hurt, because you’re too blind and naive to see that it’s not you. And then, you can’t even tell anyone until you accidentally press send on a message you never meant to, and decide since you did it, you might as well finish it. But don’t worry. I’m not mad. It’s fine. 🙂 Breaking someone’s trust is like crumpling up a perfect piece of paper. You can smooth it over but it’s never going to be the same again. - Unknown
