I own rats. Most people don’t really get it but I love them as much as most people love their cats/dogs. I have one, Bubbles. He’s pretty old now (2y 3m - rats live 2-3 years) and last week he broke his foot. The vet we saw IMMEDIATELY suggested euthanasia as a possibility, but also offered medication which we’ve been giving him and his foot is completely fine as far as I can tell now. But, today his eye started bulging. This might be an injury, abscess, brain tumour, tooth issue, or eye issue. He obviously needs to see the vet but I’m fucjing terrified she’s just gonna suggest we euthanise him. He’s still got love to give and he’s energetic, happy, loves exploring and everything. It wouldn’t be fair to put him down now but she doesn’t see that. I’m so scared. I have no one to talk to about this. Plus I’m 16 + jobless so my dad will have to pay most of the vet bills which makes me anxious about asking to go. Plus I’m a month clean from sh finally and iiiii can see that changing. Help
