I remember the first time I breakdown when I was given the result that my dad could potentially die. I begged dad to go to the hospital but he refused. After some convincing from my whole family he agreed. Luckily my dad’s result were stable as long as he stay away from his bad habits he would be okay. Then the last weekend of April, my aunties show up, I don’t really remember what happens that day but I do remember one thing. I told them a shameful secret that sometimes I feel like my parents aren’t my parents and that I’m just there. I think I told them way more secrets that I kept from my parents but it felt good, letting everything out felt like a huge temple fell off of me. I remember the crying, the hugs and comfort words that left me in peace with myself. Until the week after, I was called upstairs when my mom explain the situation to me. I left sick to my stomach and so humiliated. My aunties told everyone my shameful secret to the whole family.
