I need an outsider's perspective. My bf and i are having a disagreement that is affecting both parties. theres ab event im hoing to(paid for it months ago) and my friend is going to be there, her brother and SIL coming with us. [friend] said she was sexually assaulted by brother when she was 7. she told me 2 wks ago. OBVIOUSLY i dont like that. i told my bf, and he hates it and thinks i should skip the event entirely. its something ive been looking forward to for years. thing is, the assault was ~8 yrs ago. now, i know myself better than anyone and know how to keep nyself out of the position of getting assaulted. while the situation is ideal, i wont ever have an equal opportunity quite like this. [friend] and her fam are my only transportation.. and my bf says this is a stupid and immature decision and that i shouldnt do it. yes, the risks are high, but someone can change in that amount of time. im not looking for a "who is right" answer. im asking for a "what do i do" answer
