Today, I spoke with my dad about the bible. My dad is very wise when it comes to a lot of stuff, even the bible. I asked him a few questions I couldn't remember the answers to or don't know at all. Even if our relationship is dysfunctional, I do my best to try and talk to him because I'm still his child. I have a project in religion studies about the old testament and I chose a personal study about Proverbs. He asked when he saw me open the bible and the topic of my favorite bible verse came up. I told him Proverbs 29:9 and explained why. He mocked my interpretation of the verse, like he was irritated that I told him it reminds me that when I am in the place of a wise man, I will not argue with a fool but instead try to understand them and talk to them in a more comforting way. There was more to my interpretation but I chose to stay silent. I feel like shit, I don't want to do the personal study anymore because I'm doubting my understanding. Fuck you, dad. Go to hell. Never again.
