I've only realized now how much of a step it is to let go of someone you so desperately wanted to keep holding onto. I'm sharing this because I've talked to so many people, seen so many experiences, read so many stories of people not letting go of people that they know they should, just because of fear. Some people don't even know what they fear but still decide to. In my opinion, perhaps they fear what's going to happen next. "What if it does not work out?" - "What if things just become worse between us?" - "What if it doesn't get better?" It will. I promise you, it will. I know because i've been through this, i have let go of a serious long term romantic relationship, years of friendship, family bonds, for my own peace and my own happiness. Do it not for them, but for you. Ask yourself, do they benefit you? do they make you happy? are they fulfilling their role like they're supposed to? but most of all - Are YOU happy? Letting go is scary, but It's for the better. It's for you.
