Im a mother to an amazing 3 year old autistic baby girl. Everyday has its challenges and occasionally some days are worse than others. She has meltdowns and some are extreme or she has stims of happiness and just tends to scream. The public tends to view her as an annoyance in their lives. I go out to eat stares, we go to play kids say disrespectful things. I’ll always be a voice for my baby and show her that I’ll have her back no matter what. It just weighs heavy I want her to experience life without judgement without nasty comments, and not feel like she has to be defended or explained for her behavior. If people could just educate themselves & their children,& stop belittling autism children or making it seem like they don’t deserve the ability to be out in public spaces because they are loud or upset. This world scares me and the lack of empathy and inclusion.
