I always saw you as the light of my life. I never had many friends growing up let alone a best friend. I was shy and awkward and never had a chance at learning through relationships and changes that come with it. When I met you we clicked, and we were incredibly close. We made each other laugh, we could talk for hours without getting bored, we always thought of one another, and above all else we were happy. You shone so brightly. So bright that I was blinded by what was truly being emitted. Slowly you disrespected me, hurt me, lied to me, slowly I had to learn about the change of losing someone. In a shared room you filled it with light but as soon as I was alone it became dimmer. I was never going to be in the dark without you, but our happiness was so reliant on each other that I forgot I was still shining. I won’t lie and say we never made each other brighter, but if I didn’t leave, I would’ve never learned I can be bright too. I miss those moments but it’s better that I get to.
