*Trigger warning: SA* I was SA’d by my friend’s husband. Went to a reunion with a friend I haven’t seen in ten years but still kept close contact with. Stayed at their place while in state. Later that night her husband comes into the guest room drunk and shirtless asking for a “goodnight hug.” My friend is there smiling like it’s no big deal. I’m terrified of what he’ll do if I say no, so I quickly give him a hug. As I let go, I feel his hands slowly trace my waist. I feel gross. That night, I stay awake scared that he’ll assault me in my sleep. Looking back I should have left that night but, I was terrified in that moment. During the reunion, he forced me to sit next to him. He’s already drunk and cussing. He keeps nudging me, saying crude things. I ignore him. He puts his hand on my thigh. I tell him not to touch me and leave. She calls me saying he got kicked out. I tell her I’m staying with my aunt after what he did what he did to me. She defends his actions. I cut ties with her.
