Hot take. People should be allowed to joke about S/H, S/A, suicidal thoughts, and other serious topics, but only if they've been through it themselves. Because sometimes, joking is how people cope with going through that kind of stuff. Unless they're purposely trying to make someone feel uncomfortable, joking about OTHER people's experiences, or it's seriously impacting their mental health, they should have the right to joke about what happened to them. But people who haven't been through those things joking about it? Hell no. They don't know what it's like, so they don't have the right to joke about it.
