I'm gay, but I dislike most of the gay community. Let me explain. First of all, I think I have acceptable and rational takes, e.g. second graders shouldn't care about pronouns, and drag queens shouldn't come to schools. There are definitely lines, no I am not homophobic, just respectful. Much of my dissent towards the community comes from its association with emotional volatility and unhinged takes. For example, there will be self-proclaimed lesbians who also hate men (??), you must must think all cops are bad, support sex work or be anti-feminist (wtf lol), etc. It's an entire groupthink identity. I also think pride parades have gotten way out of hand from their intended purpose; they are simply kink and STD fests now. There is a painful lack of rational thought. We have 72 genders now, goddamit. Instead of helping these people form a stable identity, we project this as our very best, and get upset when non-LGBT folks, understandably, view our collective demographic as very weird.
