Bf got a promotion yesterday after I've been trying to get a long-shot promotion for 3 months. I keep getting strung along, but more so, I keep stringing *myself* along. It doesn't make sense for me to get this promotion. My boss retired with 18 years of experience, and I have less than 3. BUT: My supervisor posted the job twice -- the second time explicitly so I would qualify for an interview (I didn't, by a technicality) -- but it's clear that he WANTS to interview me. The interview committee discussed me as an option when I was not in the room. If I had about 5 more years of experience, I would be the PERFECT fit. It's torture to sit and wait for other people to decide my fate. This job is exactly what I went to grad school to do and I love where I work for the first time in my life. I feel confident, I have a great relationship with my coworkers, and while I'm inexperienced, this would be an amazing move for my career.
