Ever feel like you’re running full speed on a treadmill that’s slowly moving backward? I am so exhausted. I’ve done everything "right." I put in the effort. I grind out the hard work. I practice the discipline. I check every single box they tell you to check to succeed. And for what? Absolutely nothing. Every ounce of energy I invest just feels like a waste. Hard work doesn’t beat bad luck, and discipline doesn’t mean a thing when the universe keeps moving the finish line. And please, save the useless platitudes. If I hear “everything happens for a reason,” “it’s always darkest before the dawn,” or “just keep your chin up” one more time, I might actually lose it. Those empty phrases don’t pay bills, they don’t fix broken situations, and they don’t give me back the months of wasted effort. They are just cheap band-aids people throw at you when they don’t actually know how to help. The deal is failing me, and I’m just tired of pretending it’s going to magically get better.
