I actually really hate being transgender, but what I hate more are the people that are convinced it's my choice. If I truly got to decide, I would be cis my entire life. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Where I live, it's practically impossible for me to talk about my gender identity without politics getting brought up. Honestly, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, but it just bothers me when people act like me being myself is affecting them personally and harming their national ego. Obviously, I'm aware that my country is much more progressive than it was only a couple decades ago, but it's still upsetting to know that there are extremists very close to me that completely lose all respect for me just because of one aspect of myself.
