I had a friend in elementary school who I grew apart from in middle school, and she moved away in eighth grade. I did not know she was moving until she came into my band teacher's room after school to give one final goodbye. I was in that room that afternoon. I gave her a hug and I never saw her again. I should have never taken granted the friendship we had. Life is temporary and so is everyone in it. Now, years later, I see how much she was to me. We met in kindergarten. She was Mexican, and so was I. Subconsciously, she made me feel like I belonged. I really miss you, Emily. I am so sorry we grew apart, but that is life for you. I want you back.
