I find it so frustrating when people get upset when someone calls there smut 'porn'. It is porn, pornography is defined as 'any visual media, text, or audio that depicts explicit sexual acts or behaviors and is intended to cause sexual excitement' it isn't limited to video's or porn hub. And I will admit that video porn has a super messed up industry and history so I understand why people don't want to associate themselves and what they read with that industry. But by definition, your 'smutty romance' is soft porn. And honestly, if you're not comfortable calling it porn just call it erotica. Idk, but I get livid at the words 'smutty' or 'spicy'. I'm not even sure why... actually I am now that I think about it. It's tied in to purity culture, by giving something that's considered shameful another name it takes that shame away from it. There's nothing wrong with liking sex, But your 'only reading books with spice in it' is the same as a porn addiction.
