It doesn’t matter how handsome or ugly I get, how skinny or heavy I become, how well I do or don’t dress, hell even if I grow into being better or worse, none of these things affect my fear for if someone will like me harder than my identity. Being transgender and asexual makes me feel like the dating pool I have in the world is with a total of ten people and I know none of them. It’s hard enough to be transgender wondering if someone truly sees me as how I identify, if I’m fetishized, or if they ignore my identity wholly, and on top of that being asexual means I do want romance but I never feel lustful or any sort of sexual desire towards people. Gender is already a large factor in people’s attraction-now take away having sex, and that gets downsized even harder. I wouldn’t mind having a family some day through adoption or a surrogate but even then a lot of people wouldn’t want to choose that route. It feels frustrating…I wish I could just be “normal” to be considered romantically
