I'll make this one public instead of private response. To the 6 year grandparent crying poster, here's one better if this helps you: My grandma would, before I left home, when I would buy Pez dispensers with the candy, she would always put in the candy and she would give it to me, but only if I gave her a kiss on the cheek. After I left home, or should I say was thrown out, then amplified by her natural death, I can never eat Pez again because it would emotionally destroy me. Same with a pizzeria my parents and I would eat at the very few times I visited home and they picked me up from the train station. That place, from what my now deceased mom said, if I were to return there, for whatever reason, they'd give me a free meal. I can't go back there and haven't for a decade or more. My parents, much as I despised them, were worth more than a free meal. My mind would go if I went in there, got my burger platter for free, and that would be the end of that memory. Gone from that deal.
