I gave up a lot of my life for loved ones who are disabled and in the passing stage. As much as I am more than happy to help I am stressed & overwhelmed, not only from caring for them 24/7 but to see my youth pass before me I can’t help feeling a little insecure where I’m at in life. When I first started helping I was already depressed, and for at least three years it temporarily went away— from all the work I put into being a caretaker. Now it’s coming to an end and the depression is blooming again. I know all those difficult nights I stayed with my loved one to make sure they didn’t bleed out or die from a 2% chance of living fracture (which they survived) should mean more to me than any school, career or relationship milestones, but urgh I have needs I can’t get from just family and friends. I’m sorry I can’t be less selfish. I really need movement in my life, tired of the stagnation.
