10/23 was the last time our band performed our show for this year. We have 15 seniors who will never march with us again. My section leader left a note that’s really positive and makes me cry whenever I read it, because time is running out before I no longer see them again (forever the foreseeable future, that is). I plan on auditioning for drum Major next year, so if I get it, I won’t be a “member” of my section the remainder of my high school journey. Unless it’s concert band season, then I will rejoin them. It’s always the seniors I get closest to the fastest. And if I make friends with juniors, we drift apart when they’re seniors. I miss my two twin seniors from last year.
