Here's another one relating to last entry; it's about male victims. I believe that male victims (sexual assault, grooming, abuse, etc. etc.) are often ignored in a way that disgusts me to my very core. I feel like so much emphasis is put on hearing female victims, and although it's amazing that these victims are heard and listened to about these horrid experiences they have had, male victims don't get this necessary attention, though some ignore all of these abuse victims entirely. Male victims do exist, and the fact that so much of the world has made excuses for it, such as claiming that the man "wanted it," that you "could've stopped it if you wanted to," or someone saying that they "wish it was them." All of these things stem from such systemic beliefs about men, about how all they want is sex and that they have to be masculine. It just seems like such a double standard. This is not meant to downplay female abuse, that's also equally as terrible, so don't misunderstand me. --Psi--
