I met a woman who lives nearby and we seem to have a lot in common, and she has a disability which doesn't allow her to work bc of frequent call offs. She hasn't specified which, but consistently asks me to come over and handle her mountain of dishes, clean her bathrooms, and organize/grab things from her shed. It's never just chatting with her. She asked me to come over for her birthday (4 days before my own) and she procrastinated planning, so I had to buy art supplies for her and her friends before I came over. She then forgot my birthday. She asked me to hang while she did trunk or treat - and I had to buy the candy she forgot. She only texts me when she needs something. I got married a few days ago and invited her to my wedding several months ago - no response and no congrats. She just doesn't give a shit about anything unless it's helping her. So many articles about being a good friend to disabled people - almost none about not being a shitty friend when you are disabled.
