I hate nyc education (coming from someone born+lived). its RIGGED. Grades are no longer the priority. It comes to random stuff. If you are a highschooler, you either have these choices: SHSAT: Test- score. No screening (looking at grades). Fair, in my opinion Audition (LaGuardia): Audition- best one (scored) gets enrolled. Fair, in my opinion Regular highschools: Ranged. The one I WILL TALK/RANT ABOUT: So like based on ur grades u are split to 4 groups. Group 1 is around ~15% kids, yeh? They get first pick. Of course, sometimes, there are more applicants then seats, so like random number. But!!!! Its assigned for like every school. idk how to explain it so like here: John Doe: ff Group 1 (worst, no school will enroll him, even if his averages are all 100 doesnt matter,,, ff is WORST) John Doe(2): 00 Group 1 (BEST WILL GET FIRST PICK- even if he has the bare minimum of like 95 or smth [no offense]) kinda stupid tbh... not rigged tech... but im DOOMED
