For context, I’m a girl in high school. We had a packet to complete, and I was paired with three boys: Mike, Joe, and Alan, who is in special education. After we finished, Mike suddenly told Alan that he had a crush on me. Alan had been occasionally glancing at me, and Mike started encouraging him to “get closer” and asking why we were sitting so far apart. Alan kept scooting closer while I became uncomfortable and shifted away. I felt frozen and wanted to cry. I jabbed my palm with my pen subtly. This went on for 15 mins. My friend noticed and called Mike out, asking why he was encouraging Alan to get closer to me. Mike and Joe played dumb, and eventually the teacher told us to return to our original seats. Afterward, my friend sat with me and told Mike he was being weird. I was extremely scared and disgusted, and I don’t know what would’ve happened if she hadn’t stepped in. She told me I should’ve moved seats, but when you’re actually experiencing something like that, you can freeze.
