I remember not having much clothes and not being able to shower for a long time like showering once a week or once every two weeks due to my situation at home, being neglected in foster care and once I got back with my mom I was living in a homeless shelter. A shitty one at that. I was bullied so much in middle school it’s not even funny. Like everyone knew I stank which I did but it still hurts yk? Everyone was so cruel and even knew my situation, I was crying in my guidance counselors office daily. Going to a predominantly white and rich school as a poor black Latina girl isn’t for the weak. Even the teachers. I am grateful for one, we had a special bond and she excused me sleeping in my class or crying or running out or not doing my work knowing what was going on and yet she still helped me. I’ve always been grateful for teachers like that. Thank you, Mrs. F.
