I cant stand useless advice. "don't give in to peer pressure" when they are really only talking about a specific type. They're talking about the kids who smoke and skip class. that's why the emphasize "good vs bad influence" they fucking KNOW there are good and bad types... but decide to lump them all into "peer pressure" assuming we'll choose the socially correct answer. "read between the lines" you can't do that if you don't have the experience to know where the lines are. "you'll know when you're older" what do you lack to be so incapable of explaining yourself? fucking experienced based advice given to younger gens doesn't work because it hinges on he fact THAT THEY KNOW THE ANSWER ALREADY. I point it out to them and they scrutinize me. I don't get how they lack the ability to see "if my advice relies on my personal experience with no outside info and will not be fruitful, then it's not real advice!" at this point their "advice" is a cliche you nod and smile to.
