as I’m writing this it’s 12:51 in the morning, I just came back from a work trip and it suddenly dawned on me that I am truly nobody without my work. For context I turned my hobby into my job, which I’m sure some would probably think “isn’t that a good thing” I would agree if it didn’t take up the entirety of my younger life, I’m 21 now and since the age of 14 all I’ve done is this, it’s all I know. I didn’t gain the experiences of a normal high school student, and I was blesssd with being able to go directly into the work force and skipping college. But I’m sad that I think this highly stunted me in not only social situations, but also identity. If I woke up tomorrow and I didn’t have any of the achievements or skills that I’ve acquired, I wouldn’t be anybody. I feel like my whole life I’ve had to earn love, attention, affirmation.
