Loneliness follows me wherever I go. As a military brat, I have had to move around constantly, and it has made me adaptable in a sense, but I don’t know many people I can consider a friend. And the friends I do have live far away. All I want are what others have. A companion throughout their days, a person to always choose as their partner in class, someone to walk with, to talk with, to trust in and to be trusted by. I yearn for connection but both time and my ineptitude keep me from such a goal. Ironically enough, though, I avoid talking to hide my social awkwardness, making myself more socially awkward. But, besides that, if there was one way I could summarize all of this, it’s quite lonely in this mind built for many.
