My spouse can’t regulate their emotions properly despite being an adult who should have learned emotional intelligence by now. The most minor inconvenience sets them off. A person walking slowly in front of them in a grocery store will trigger heavy sighs and eye rolls. Password incorrect? Shouting and sighing and flaying their arms. Stressful day at work? You guessed it—sighs, a sulky mood, shutting doors too hard. Every single moment is somehow cause for a problem or an issue or a foul mood, and it’s every GOD DAMN day. I’ve realized I feel on edge when they’re home and more at ease when they’re away, and I hate that I feel that way.
