As a teen in an immigrant household, I've been brainwashed early on into believing that money beats everything. Though we've been living comfortably for the past few years, my parents remain worshipers of money, believing that having more is better. Last year, I picked up a part-time job and made good money. At the time, I did not own a bank account, so my mom would load the money into her account and then pay me back in cash. And as I've said, my family has always had a tight grasp on money, so I never had the chance to invest and enjoy my hobbies. But since the money I made is mine, I thought it would be no big deal to invest a bit into a long time favouite hobby of mine - art. It was all fine until my mom decided to go through my stuff, counted the money I had left, and acted like she did nothing. She later told my dad, and so he started questioning me about where my money had gone. He told me to be honest and that he wouldn't get mad, but as usual, he did.(can't fit more words:()
