I hate the lack of empathy of others, especially when all I want is a place to open up. Throughout my life, I've been taught that my emotions don't matter. If my emotions don't matter, it's difficult to even open up or trust that others won't take advantage of me; I'm forever on my guard. I'm not owed respect, I attribute it to something shallow and insecure like power dynamics or the harmony of the group. I wish I could forget about all of that and just express myself like humans were given the ability to. I hate feeling followed, judged, for inconveniencing others. I hate self-isolating because of this matter, but it doesn't feel safe to change unless I'm too perfect now.
