Honestly I feel like gay guys are being treated as a joke—anything can be called gay because it’s some sort of mockery for two guys to love each other, in male friendships a lot of weird “yaoi obsessed” people think it’s fun to pressure them to be romantically involved, even in the queer community everything is ever classified to one another as gay—queer is a label for something that resonates or is a broad title towards the LGBTQ community, but it feels like just saying “gay” to describe everything makes the label so watered out and truly not recognized…it’s seen as this romantically exotic aesthetic for two guys to like each other and deem every male connection should be gay but it just strips away the true impact and love two guys can have for each other and truly go through many societal, internal, and emotional battles to accept this love. Nothing in the community should be used as a mockery but using “gay” as a throw away is so normalized :(
