Just got word that Halloween is gonna be kinda disappointing this year. We're only going to one place for trick or treating, and it's small, so not much candy. I also didn't get to make my own costume because my mother decided to order me a premade one. Despite knowing that I like to make my own costumes, and have for several years. I'm only wearing it because it feels rude not to. The only real highlight of Halloween this year was us carving pumpkins. But if we're really considering that the most exciting thing we did this year, that says a lot about the things we could've done. To be honest, the vibes around the holidays have just gotten worse and worse every year. It's all commercialised now, and the edges have been smoothed to the point of having no personality. Halloween is my favourite holiday, so it's especially disappointing what's happening. I feel like we (by "we", I mean myself and others in the family) might as well not celebrate.
