there's a lack of empathy in this world so noticable that no one can deny it. I'm sure this is something everyone can unamimously agree upon; there is an unbelievable and unacceptable shortage in this world. I feel this tenfold as someone who's trans, where most people will only ever see me as a "biological man" or a "deluded man who wants to be a woman" - the truth is, no one will ever empathize with my situation unless they have gone through it themselves. It feels like people nowadays refuse to imagine how hard things must be in my own shoes. This empathy shortage affects many other people too, disabled people, those struggling immensely with finances, loneliness, living situations, people who are barely clinging to life, and we live in a world there is not enough care for those who really need it, and it sickens me. Isn't the goal of life to try and be ourselves and try and be happy in our own skin, while having all the basic needs that every human deserves? all we need is empathy.
