When you say that do you know that you’re causing much more damage than someone who’s insulting or complimenting a person? You’re the one being the asshole, you’re not protecting or being as honest as you think you are and your intentions certainly don’t come off as being good Saying that insinuates that any compliment a person could receive is deceptive and untrue, whereas they should just accept being insulted and ridiculed for themselves as the standard; it literally ruins their self confidence and trust in what to believe of themselves Not to mention, even if someone was conveniently unattractive, talentless, unintelligent, or just not to your idea of a standard of what can “have earnest compliments,” that’s just your own standard—that’s why YOU don’t compliment them but that doesn’t mean you try and shame anyone else who does It’s really not that hard to mind your manners
