Ok so my partner and I wanted to be legally married. We've been together for a bit, funds are tight, so we decided we'd make a quick trip to the courthouse. We will have a ceremony next year to give us time to save for it! Well my mom kept saying how she wanted to be at the courthouse. Mind you, the whole "ceremony" took not even two minutes. It was in a tiny, cramped real estate agent office. We didn't even exchange rings or anything. I told my mom we got married and she responded with few to no words and is now not talking to me. She is upset that she wasn't there for the official marriage, even though she is absolutely going to be at the ceremony next year. No one was there besides my partner, myself, and the officiant. Am I wrong for being frustrated at her temper tantrum over not getting her way? Instead of being happy about our marriage, she's giving me the silent treatment of her not being there.
