I fucking hate Psychiatry - like it is not real medicine! It is so subjective, and the consultants are not medical professionals - I feel like they were the ones that did not go through medical school and did well. It is full of subjectivity, and no amount of experience can make it more objective. Secondly, the management is over prescribed, leading to 2º consequences such as addition or withdrawal. Take ADHD for instance, it is immensely over diagnosed. I cannot think of a Psychiatrist that has denied a ADHD diagnosis - they see patients for the money, make the diagnosis, and start stimulants, resulting is a poorer life quality and dependence on the medication in the longer term
