I have a friend who has a boyfriend. They live together with my friend’s mother. Over this past year their house has slowly become a genuine hoarder situation: extremely dirty, bugs flying around everywhere. You’re barely able to walk through it because of all the stuff everywhere. I’ve offered help multiple times, but so far they haven’t wanted to take it. I know I can’t make them accept help, but it’s getting increasingly more concerning. I have the skills and time to help them and it’s actually stressing me out knowing that my friends are living in a situation like that (a situation I could help a LOT with) and I can’t do anything about it. Along with other hazards, it’s becoming a bit of a biohazard in that house. It’s especially concerning considering they have cats, and my friend is having a baby soon. They keep downplaying it or saying they’re getting lots of cleaning done but every time I go over there it looks worse. I’m really worried and frustrated that they won’t get help.
