There has always been sex traffickers in power, right back from the days of ancient Rome and Greece. Now we have universities, the government still invading Islamic countries, the royal family, Epstein, the porn industry that profits, the war trade (we've always profited from a good war, as Machiavelli has shown us), etc. De Sade was a really good man for exposing this to us as well. His crimes themselves were overstated by his government.
