I just went on the biggest detective investigation of my goddamn life and Idk how to feel So I read a fanfic on Ao3 that was Evil Pomni x Pomni. Don't ship, but I was really curious about it Anyway, the thing that got my eye was for some reason, Evil Pomni used they/them pronouns and Regular Pomni used it/its. And nowhere was it explained why! So I did more digging, went into their profile and saw that that fic was their ONLY work. Now I just got even more confused, looked further, apparently it was an alt for some other account. And when going to those accounts, on both Tumblr and Ao3. THEN I got my answers! self projecting. The author uses he, they and its pronouns. And they put those aspects of themselves onto the characters to an... almost comic degree, fuck's sake. Their redesigns look nothing like the og characters. And their reasoning was that once they find out they were just code they went with non-gendered pronouns, and it's just Fuck man, just make OCs atp
