Being good at school was such a scam. I was a perfect student, I poured everything into doing well in school and it’s all meaningless. Universities care about extracurriculars and volunteering and all that shit I never did. Work requires interviews that I fail miserably because I suck ass at talking to people. It’s so childish but I feel lied to. Everybody treated getting good grades as a guarantee for a comfortable future. But it’s not! I wasted my teenage years writing essays about Shakespeare that nobody cares about while killing my social life. Every single stupid uni application only asks what makes you unique, what big goal you have in the world. But that’s not who I am as a person! I don’t have grand ambitions, I want to be given worksheets to solve with no initiative because that’s what I excel at. And in school that carried me so well I believed everything would be fine forever. Now I’ve graduated with zero practical skills or socialization and feel like there’s no future.
