i just watched saving private ryan and wow. that movie really has me thinking about what the fuck is going on around the world. just the omaha scene alone. image that but in palestine, sudan, ukraine, or any other place that i dont even know about because its too "irrelevant" to american society. fuck war. fuck imperialism. and fuck the nazis. cus thinking about what theyd done during ww2 and the holocaust... i cant believe this is real life yo. and then it extends far past ww2, because there were killings in Italy, all the disgusting shit Japan did (learning about the rape of nanking/nanjing still effs me up till this day), and even before that like the armenian genocide, the trail of tears... etc it makes me angry that genocides and unjustifiable persecutions have been forgotten. those people dead, never experiencing their first love, seeing their children grow, their first graduation... and their culture lost. i still cant believe i live in what used to b native land.
