Friend 1 considered joining the army as they didn’t know what to do with their life and it would be “fun” and my other friend was defending them despite being worried about a lot of politics and injustice especially surrounding the military. Like both are stupid but I’m more angry at the second friend because their worry feels now performative that they only care if it directly impacts them or makes them look like a good person and they don’t try to help out in worries like both of us are worried about the environment and politics but at least i go out and try to help by signing and protesting. They just complain complain complain and don’t try to do anything to help.
