Something I still don’t understand is how people can prioritize the length they’ve known someone more than the character of the person. How can you pick and choose which people to cut ties with, even if they’ve done the same evil, and the only thing in the way had been the time you knew them? No matter how long something can go on for there’s always going to be the possibly it will be cut shorter than expected. But until that happens, you’re willing to still share a connection with an individual you morally, emotionally, or politically disagree with purely based on the fact you’ve had this connection longer than most others? If you wouldn’t like them as a person, why do you still keep their company anyhow-does the past really matter if the present is disapproving the worth of this loyalty?
